The Best Laminate Flooring
The tongue and groove type of laminate flooring sold by Homebase, Wickes, etc. are quite easy to fit and the main thing to remember is to push them together tightly (seems easy until you put the adhesive) and to make sure you clean all adhesive stains before they dry, a lot easier than doing it later.
The price of laminate flooring seems to go down all the time and even the more basic range looks nice so overall it is a cheap solution although it is true that the extras such as adhesive, cleaner, spaces, etc. add to the price.
For kitchens I would think it is the next best thing after tiles, the advantage of tiles being that they can get wet without being harmed. The laminate flooring can take osme water but if you leave something wet on the floor for a long time you may get some ugly swelling (as I discovered after mopping the floor and leaving the wet mop on it). It is a good idea to have a mat in the dangerous areas such as near the sink. The laminate floor can be a bit slippery but is so easy to keep clean and can
realy brighten up and modernise the look of any room. Now we are thinking of doing the same in the passage and lounge.
