Why Information Products are the Best Product
A mentor once told me, “If you want to sell something online, sell an information product. It is the best type of product to sell online.” I did give it a hard look for some time, and today, I come to the conclusion that what he said is so true.
There are a few reasons for that, which I gather all these years:
1) People Are Looking For Information Online
This is true for the majority even though some go online to be entertained or interact. The last time I checked, the most popular websites are sites that provide search, which essentially means, people are using them to look for some kind of information.
And this will hold true for years and years to come.
2) Creating An Info Product Is Relatively Easy
Technologies have allowed ordinary people who have the desire to create information products to easily create them with ease.
For example, software that records activities on computer screen has allowed many stay at home people to create info product from where they are. They create tutorials and instruction on how to do things which they are good at, and charge it for a certain amount of money like a consultant would.
And this method is becoming more popular these days.
3) Information Product Has Big Margin
People used to spend hours creating and pitching product at auction site. In fact, this is still a preferred way to make money online. What people did not know is, they can gain higher margin if they create their own product and promote it.
The amount of work they need to put in to promote on auction site is the same if they were to promote their own product but with better profit margin.
