Online Marketing Techniques

It is no doubt that marketing is considered as one of the most important players of any companies. This arm anchors the performance of the product or service offered by the company to the customers. Therefore, it dictates the success or failure of the organization’s revenue generation. With these in mind, most companies have already swiveled into intruding the online market. This is also the reason why search engine optimisation (SEO) is immensely popular today.

But before diving into the world of SEO or other online marketing techniques, one must have an orientation with the advantages and setback of these tools available. There are quite a number of schemes one may utilize over the internet. But these can be categorized into two major factions: Paid and Free online marketing techniques.

Paid methods include search engine optimisation: SEO copywriting, PR and link building, paid search or pay per click, paid email marketing, banner ads, online classified advertisements, domain names purchase, use of social bookmarking and more. The biggest benefit one can obtain from paid methods is that the amount of work is less compared to the others. The only time that it will demand time is when one opens an account, enter important data and sign the agreement. Other than that, the SEO company does the dirty job for one’s business. But of course, the disadvantage of this is that one must invest money and pay for whatever services each time the facility is used.

The exact opposite is true for free online marketing schemes, wherein tons of work is expected to be fulfilled, but with no cost at all. Article writing, the use of social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, free online classified ads, forum posts, web logs, leaving blog comments and dozens more are example of this method.

While search engine optimisation remains to be grounded at the top spot when talking about online marketing because of the large percentage of users relying on search engines, a person or an organization who wants to capitalize on these fast growing mode of promoting their goods and service must be able to evaluate what exactly they need. The pros and cons listed above may be very helpful in balancing off the amount of money that will be invested and the workload that has to be accomplished. All strategies that will be taken should also be aligned with the company’s core objectives. And not all of the above-mentioned methods, paid or free, can be applicable.
